Chartered Banker

Chartered Banker is the professional qualification awarded to qualified members of the Chartered Banker Institute.[3] To become a Chartered Banker, individuals must pass a series of rigorous examinations on subjects including ethics, credit and lending, risk management and management and leadership. Chartered Bankers are required to complete a minimum of 35 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) per year, including 5 hours of ethics training, and subscribe to the Chartered Banker Code of Professional Conduct.[4] There are approximately 5,000 Chartered Bankers as of June 2011.

In 2008, the Chartered Banker Institute established a “Chartered Banker Fast-Track Accountancy Conversion Course” to Chartered Banker status for qualified accountants. To obtain the Chartered Banker designation, qualified accountants are only required to study and successfully complete 3 subjects designed to complement their existing accountancy qualification.

The Chartered Banker Institute appointed an exclusive partner – Success Institute of Higher Education and Professional Training Limited to offer this course in Hong Kong. The course has been registered under the Hong Kong non-local higher and professional education (regulation) ordinance and the course registration number is 351892.
